Default compensation for the lag issues!

I haven't been able to play for a week now, i missed the AB event and now i just tried to do the first "event" quest, but it's impossible with lagspikes over 10k against lvl 24 foes.
Not even sure what kind of reward theese event missions gives, but i will miss out on them.

Sure i know we will probably never get compensated for the lag issues.
It's just a wish since i know it's impossible for them to know who actually had the issues.

Is there any more news ?
All i can find is the statement from 1st of July, that's quite some time ago.

I think this would be a good idea, given the circumstances.

The lag really is atrocious and widespread.

Ping of 14000!!! here (netherlands).

Did try the limited availability event mission, but of course didn't stand a chance. Did get to the first gate while the latency was around 3000, and promptly got an error 7, and when I reconnected the mission was no longer available.

EDIT: I didn't have the problem yesterday, it started about 20 hours ago.

I've connected to the International district before going outside.

I'm playing the Yeti mission at the moment and the lag is there, but bearable. (ping ~300ms)

No lag spikes.

Earlier on, I had a ~1500ms ping, massive lag spikes and 3 consecutive Error 7s while going outside from the English district.

The problem is that I get error 7'ed every time I try to change districts. Even moving to other towns gets error 7's a lot of times.

Waste some time trying to get to the International district, even if you get Error 7s. Even if you switch towns, you'll stay in International.

I'm in International now, and things are running much more smoothily.

Yep the lag is pretty much killing me. But i took the advice of someone in the Lag Atm thread who said to play on the international server. While the lag is still there its better than what it was on the Euro servers - i can actually play the game. Give it a go. I would also like to see Anet give us the lowdown on the current situation.

By the way...the rewards for the missions....its just mroe victory tokens.Your not missing out

I seriously doubt Anet can provide direct compensation, but they've extended and/or repeated events so that everyone affected by a given issue can catch up.

In any event, moving this thread since it's not a tech support issue.

I'm not affected by the lag. However I do agree that its unfair you miss out on the event.

I had 100 Average all day then (swapped server maybe) suddenly it was 3500-4500
Try playing roller bug () race with that kind of ping
I too would like if the event went on longer but likely one of 2 things (if not both) would happen
a) People would complain about lag for longer (with good cause don't get me wrong i'm not saying i disagree but people will complain all week
b) Anet being Anet will decide this gives advantage to those of us that can play more and will (in the interest of fairness) make the festival Titles higher and rewards lower

seriously people, lag happens and always will, get used to it.

I reckon that the problem is everyone leaving there characterson over night, afk in thouse stupid rings which gives u gay titles which are impossible to get unless you really rich.

So i think they should have an afk log out period. If you dont touch your computer for about 20 mins you get logged out.

If you were in a group. you would log bak into the group unless they already kicked you.

Actually you only need to buy about 100 tickets, and if you have any skill at all, you can get up to a few stacks by predicting the next winning ring.

The strange thing is, there are a lot of people with lag on the euro servers, but not all players experience massive lag.
I, for example, have not had that much of bad lag the last weeks and I played almost daily.
I was in Shing Jea earlier and some german guy had enormous lag, while I (Netherlands) and guildie (Croatia) had no lag.
Could be that it's not A-net, but some ISP that has ****ed up.
Depending on the source of the problems, it's up to A-net to decide what to do next.

But in the past they have showed to do something for people hit by outside problems (the asian network problem during Haloween), but that was a problem on an other scale, so don't hope too much.

In my casse, it depends on character age. Younger characters get more lag.

Insane mistery.

You dear Sir have no grasp of the problem at all. The problem is affecting many persons on many districts (all around Europe), as they are hosted in the same park. I traced all districts, and that leads to one single place in Europe, being Frankfurt. International district is located elsewhere (that why I suggested to use it in the lag ATM thread).

It has nothing to do with any of the reasons you mention, don't accuse people falsely, advice non-usable "solutions", and say they got to live with it.

I don't need any compensation whatsoever, an extension would be nice for some but not esssential. In the end I just would like to know what went wrong, and I hope they learn from it so that in the future they can deal with it more quickly.

Lol, u have a glass ball, or u hacked the ring designator at ANet?
Rings of fortune and nine rings have nothing to do with skill. Its all a chance process and in the end statistics will prevail.

errr, theres no spanish or italian district on my list of server only US and International and they both lag.

50,000 ms thats the worst I've gotten. I have pings ranging form 100ms - 50,000ms, its has to be some mysterious forces behind that. it is especially laggy in saltspray, when I am questing on my own with henchmen, its usually very pleasant, no lag, only during PVP.

there is no better IP in my country, and not running any program in the background.

Go on international districts...so good and in normal play go to international and youll experiance more bandwidth streamed for your use of play...well as it seems you do.
